About this image

Following on from M101 in France (last post), I tried a narrowband image (the moon had become ominously bright, so narrowband was only option...).

This is actually taken over three nights with the emphasis on Ha. After much messing in Pixinsight I managed to express the OIII in the image. I also took some SII data but abandoned using this after a while as it didnt offer much.

I have manipulated the colours so Ha is a warm orange rather than primary red or magenta. I also had to work hard to tame the stars (too big, halos etc...). Pixinsight now offers a very good star mask routine - it uses a neural network!
