About this image

A fine winter multiple star. The brighter component (A) is magnitude 5.01 is a Delta Scuti variable (amplitude 0.08mag). It is also a spectroscopic binary. The brighter "companion" B is a line-of-sight field star 10 arc-secs away. Closer but fainter is component C, a true companion in a 20,000 year waltz with A. It too is a spectroscopic double (though now split by HST) one of which is a white dwarf.
