About this image
M27 is an emission nebula, also known as a Planetary nebula – in the constellation of Vulpecula.
It is approx. 1,200 Light years from us. It is believed to be 9,807 years old, not old at all really.
I have been working on this target for what seems like forever :) Weather in the UK being one big reason but the other one has been trying to learn more processing skills – in PixInsight mainly.
I started it on the 4th Aug21 and am finally happy (ish) with my image. Other than trying to improve my image processing skills, I have been trying to “bring out” the edge nebulosity more + the Stars in my initial/normal processing routine didn’t look quite right, too many red/orange stars.
Imaged over a few nights, 4th 8th 16th 28th Aug + 3rd & 23rd Sept21
Processing; Deep sky stacker, PixInsight with final tweaks in Photoshop and Topaz DeNoise.
Clear skies all.

Comments
Those myriad of tiny stars and they are all so round - wondeful work.
Martin
Thanks Martin. Yeap, the longer I imaged for the more stars appeared - quelle surprise :)
