About this image

Huge and dim, a real test of the conditions. The galaxy is slightly elongated roughly N-S. Three concentric areas of increasing brightness can be discerned. The surface is scattered with stars or stellar points. It was virtually twinkling. Bright emission nebula NGC 604 was very clearly seen.
