About this image

This image hints at the spectacular barred spiral revealed by larger apertures and more sophisticated processing. I pushed the exposure out to over two hours to see how much I could capture with 112mm, but a bright Moon was not helping.

Distance c.67million ly. Apparent magnitude 12.9. Absolute magnitude -17.07.

Bortle 7/8. Moon 12 days old, waxing gibbous, 92% illuminated.
