About this image

The days have been gloriously sunny here for the past couple of weeks but the nights have been very hazy. The transparency last night was a bit better than recently so I left the telescope running through the night. Hercules was high up at 3am so here is an image of this familiar globular. The IMX455 CMOS sensor has a very large dynamic range so it is possible to process the image to avoid saturating the bright stars in the centre of the cluster.
