About this image

This comet, discovered way back in 2017 when it was 16 au from the Sun, is now only 8 months away from perihelion. It is still 3.5 au out but it is currently a nice object in the morning sky moving slowly through the Milky Way in Aquila. It is currently around 11th magnitude but should start brightening fairly rapidly now and may reach 8th magnitude towards the end of the summer. It will be moving south though so it will become more difficult to observe from UK latitudes later in the year.
