NGC 4631 (also known as the Whale Galaxy or Caldwell 32) is an edge-on barred spiral galaxy, magnitude +9.2. This enormous galaxy appears slightly distorted due to gravitational interaction with its companion galaxy NGC 4627. 

NGC 4627 is a dwarf elliptical galaxy, magnitude +12.4, it is 31 million light years away.
