About this image

Sunrise over the Straight Wall (Rupes recta) and crater Birt clearly reveals the remains of the large 220-km crater that encloses both of those features. This is known informally as "Ancient Thebit" and it is not so obvious under higher illumination. Thebit itself is the triple formation visible to the right of this image.
