About this image

Managed to pick up Mercury with some difficulty in milky skies on Saturday afternoon just gone. Not helped by batteries running down on Argo Navis and miscalculating the focus position with the 2.7x barlow inserted which added nearly an hour to the session!

This image is made up from the best 15% of 159k frames. Spin-blur masking method used to reduce edge-rind effect (see end section of my webpage for more details on this) enabling me to pull out details at the edge of the planet. Other details on the image.
