Looks like a mirror image to me.  Often a problem with the way software/CCD combinations read out and process 'standard' FITS files... Didn't anyone else notice this???

I think Grant's paper on this object has some dodgy image orientations as well...something the reviewer should have picked up.

I must confess I have never much worried about image orientation if, when the information matters, its present. If people/reviewers object, I am happy to orientate it their preferred way, but I won't lose any sleep over it. :)

For pretty pictures it's not a problem, just sloppy, but for objects that vary over time a 'standard' orientation helps with comparison.

Maybe for my next montage I'll apply a random orientation for each month.  That would look really stupid!

How about a random false colour scheme and varied stretch too!

BTW What is considered the standard view now? On sky or as seen through an instrument?
