About this image

This planetary nebula was discovered by William Herschel in September 1793.

In this image, the nebula appears perfectly round, rather than slightly elliptical, and the central star (mag.10.6) is not seen.

Diameter 0.44x0.40 ly. Distance c.2-5,000ly.  Apparent magnitude 8.8.

Bortle 7/8. Moon waxing gibbous 93% 17 days old, but very low in the SE.
