About this image

Two images of Jupiter spaced roughly an hour apart from this morning’s session before work. Started with GRS setting and then had the parade of the “A” anti-cyclone storms follow across the disk. DS8 could also be seen preceding and north of A3. The slate-blue knot in the NEB prior to the meridian in the first image (8h) was quite intense; when I first started I thought it might be a shadow transit (or a pesky dust mote!) The NTB continues to be thread thin and light orange in appearance, totally invisible to my eyes when wrapping up with a visual inspection at the eyepiece. In the northern reaches of the planet I believe that white storm seen in the first image is possibly NN-WS-6; the fact that it cannot be made out as well an hour later probably reflects the seeing deteriorating as I went along.
