About this image

Three different views of Mars. The one on the left is a red light image and emphasises surface markings. On the right is a blue light image showing atmospheric phenomena and the polar cap. The central RGB is these two combined in Winjupos with a green image. 

Solis Lacus is to the right hand side. To its left stretches Mare Erythraeum. Below this are Niliacus Lacus and Mare Acidalium.

There remains a small South polar cap. Note also the prominent North Polar Hood.
