About this image

This faint intermediate spiral galaxy in Camelopardalis was discovered by Alphonse Borrelly in 1871.

The image shows a tiny central nucleus surrounded by a small, dense disk which is itself surrounded by a larger, fainter disk.

Distance c.66.2million ly. Diameter c. 98,000ly. Dimensions 4.9'x1.7'. Apparent mag. 11.9. Absolute mag. -20.14.

Bortle 7/8. No Moon.
