About this image

This was the only image I managed to get this morning of Lucy as it moved out following its Earth gravity assist flyby. There were a few gaps between rain showers and I didn't have any time to get focus so this image is quite badly out of focus. The Moon was very nearby too and led to a very large gradient across the image which I have subtracted using a median filter. I measured the magnitude as 16.8 and the current range according to JPL Horizons is 315,000 km. Compare with my image of the spacecraft and its upper stage taken just after launch.
