Uranus and moons

About this image

This was Uranus at a good height in reasonably steady 'seeing'.  By using an IR 742 nm pass filter I was also able to capture all five of the main moons, including the tricky Miranda which never strays far from the glow of Uranus.  The ASI482MC took the best images of Uranus but the IR sensitive ASI462MC was able to capture the moons at a fast enough frame rate to avoid too much travel while picking them out.

[Borat]Very nice[/Borat]

I have yet to get Miranda, despite numerous tries, so well done!

Solving the "too much travel" issue can often be done by taking numerous subs and tracking on the predicted motion of the satellite. Contact me if you would like a script which does this for a series of FITS images.
