About this image
I have been trying to do some Planetary imaging over the last few months, it’s very tricky. I have the utmost respect for all you planetary imagers out there – it’s a challenging branch of Astrophotography – hats off to you all.
I never knew Mars had ‘Phases’ until I started to image it...
It’s the first time I used an UV/IR cut filter – I think it really helped a lot.
I processed using AutoStakkert3, Registax6 for Wavelets only then Photoshop (a few tweaks), Topaz Denoise and a few tweaks in PixInsight.
Lots to learn but that’s one of the many fun things of this hobby.
Clear skies all.

That is a promising result Martina, and I hope you will be sending it, and any others you might obtain, to the Mars Section. The albedo features in this hemisphere were not affected by the recent large regional dust storm, so they show up in nice detail. There is a hint of a white cloud at the evening terminator, which indicates the lack of atmospheric dust.
Good luck!

Thank you for your comment Richard. Early days in my Planetary imaging but I'm enjoying it.
I would gladly add it to the Mars section but I'm not sure how to do that! I will send you a separate email in a bit - I'm hoping you can teach me the trick :)
