About this image

A bright morning promised a chance of seeing this partial eclipse and conditions stayed quite good. I set up the Taylor Mak in my back garden and despite some periods of cloud cover I was able to follow most of the event. In between taking a few shots with the DSLR I sometimes swapped over to visual observing with a 25mm eyepiece.

This image was taken at mid-eclipse. A bank of cloud thwarted my attempts at capturing 4th contact.

The two hours passed fairly quickly, especially because I was explaining the eclipse to my neighbours and supervising their correct use of my BAA solar viewers.
