About this image

Jupiter with a shadow transit of Io.

L1 146.28   L2  208.97

WS6 which looks similar to Oval BA, is on the STB with a smaller oval south of WS6 on the SSTB.

The SEBn has an oval preceded by a small dark spot and followed by a pair of dark spots. The shadow of Io is over the SEB near the limb at the time of the drawing. I saw Io earlier but lost it over the planet as it moved further in. The seeing this night was average, possibly with better seeing I would have seen Io as well. Io  unlike Ganymede, is harder to see as it transits the planet.

The EQZ was active with several festoons and dark projections ( festoon bases). Something uncommon for me was how two festoons appeared connected to the SEBn.Most likely a contrast effect but still a sight to see.

The NEB with its large light ellipticals ovals gave the NEBn its wavy appearance.
