About this image

This loose (type III1p) open cluster in Cassiopeia was discovered by Caroline Herschel in September 1783. The faint reflection nebula that shrouds part of the cluster was not detected after a 33min. exposure.

Distance c.2,200ly. Age c.100-150million years. Apparent mag 7.0.

Extensive light cloud, no Moon.
