Mars is now better placed for me now having come into view of my telescope. Mare Acidalium is south of the North polar cap, and Mare Erythraeum is the large area in the Southern hemisphere

I was observing visually an hour before you, and saw the rift you captured in the north polar hood (which soon will clear to show the ground cap). I am hoping you will send this nice image and any others to the Mars Section.
