Dreyer's Nebula - IC447 & IC446

About this image

I hve a bit of a backlog at the moment that I'm trying to work though/finish off - no time, and some equiment issues that needed to be resolved!

Dreyer's Nebula (IC447) is a large, often overlooked, reflection nebula in Monoceros sitting just to the west of the large emission complex containing the Cone Nebula. There's a series of apparently linked dark nebula snaking around the area joining both IC447 to the smaller IC446, and the larger LDN1605 that appears connected to NGC2245 by a dark finger of dust.

Taken from EEYE in Jan-Apr 2021 and Nov-Dec 2022.
