About this image
This is a composite image comprising 118 x 1 min images from 15th December and 18 x 1 min images from 26th December. Earlier images taken at the beginning of the month were significantly affected by haze and moonlight but I had the suspicion from them that there was a small change to this nebula in the area indicated by the yellow arrow in the magnified view at lower left. The star arrowed seems fainter than in August (lower right magnified view) and the curved swirl coming out of it to the south seems less visible. It may be that poorer sky conditions are to blame but I am suspicious that the difference is real. Only further imaging can help decide but unfortunately this bit of sky is getting lower each night and will soon be behind my house roof.
