About this image

This unusual ring galaxy in Pegasus was discovered by William Herschel in September 1784.

This 120min. image shows only the bright central core and disk but not the much larger surrounding ring. But I think this is a fairly creditable image given the sky conditions and an aperture of only 112mm.   

Distance c.30-70million ly. Diameter c.30-70,000 ly.

Bortle 7/8, cold (-5˚C).
