About this image

My first clear morning of the year coincided with a very bright, nearly full Moon so the sky background was very bright. Despite this the ion tail of this comet stretches out of the field of view  in this full-frame image which is roughly 0.75 x 0.5 degrees FoV. Close in the coma doesn't show much detail. There is a parabolic hood ahead of the bright central coma  and, possibly, a couple of jets at PA 70 and 180. The ion tail PA is PA 315. There are quite a few faint galaxies in the main image which has been processed so that the comet appears stationary with respect to the background stars.
