About this image

This approximately mag. 9.3 class II2r open cluster in Cepheus was discovered in October 1794 by William Herschel. It seems to be partially obscured by material from an interstellar cloud, so rendering its study and measurement problematic.

Distance c.6,200ly.

Bortle 7/8. Moon waxing gibbous, 85%, 11 days.
