About this image

This was an experiment out of curiosity to compare an evening Jupiter in the CH4 waveband of 880-900 nm with an afternoon Jupiter in the 1000-1020 nm waveband.  1000 -1020 nm with the Semrock and Thorlabs filters combined is the set-up I will be using later in the year on Venus in my attempt to capture its night side just before dawn.  This experiment shows that even with scattered daylight at 1000-1020 nm Jupiter's atmosphere transmits radiation in similar patterns to that at the CH4 channel.
