Venus in UV & IR

About this image

The weather forecast was for clouds but a brief spell opened up with only occasional slight cirrus. Quite good seeing, particularly considering that the altitude of Venus was just over 30 degrees.

The UV image on the left was processed with a 'false dark' to help supress scattered light which can be an issue in the ultraviolet. The difference between with and without the 'false dark' was slim but noticeable.

There are also clouds visible in the IR image but as usual these are quite subtle even with heavy processing.
