About this image

This faint and unusually shaped galaxy was discovered by William Herschel in March 1785.

This dual image shows a triangular shaped galaxy with a straight arm to the west and several dark areas. Numerous other galaxies can be see, some of which have been labelled in the second image (see https://images.mantrapskies.com/catalog/NGC/NGC2750/index.htm for details).

The image was obtained using the COAST in Tenerife.

Distance c.125million ly. Diameter c.80,000 ly. Apparent mag. 11.9.
