About this image

Despite  a diameter of less than 8 arc seconds Mars continues to offer good detail.

Syrtis Major is just visible on the left limb with bright Hellas on the limb above it. Sinus Sabaeus runs horizontally across the disk with the forked bay of Sinus Meridiani at its end. Mare Acidalium is to its lower right and Mare Erythraeum to the upper left.
