This edge-on spiral galaxy in Canes Venatici is distinguished by its tiny bright nucleus set in an extensive mottled disk. It was discovered in March 1787 by William Herschel, and is a member of the M94 galaxy group. Another galaxy that seems worth closer attention.

Distance 14.1million ly. Apparent mag. 10.2.

Moon waning gibbous, 16 days old, 97%.
