About this image

Kohoutek 1-17
A planetary nebula discovered by the Czech astronomer Dr. Luboš Kohoutek in 1963. It was discvoered by visual examination of National Geographic Society-Palomar Observatory Sky Survey prints.
It is registered on the HASH database as having a size of 56 arc seconds but this deep image reveals outer extensions giving it a true size of 2 arc minutes.
This was a collaboration with my great friend Sven Eklund.
Data capture by myself and Sven Eklund from our remote observatories in Spain.
