About this image

My pick for the Deep Sky Section object of interest for July was Campbell's Hydrogen Star (PK 64+5.1) - a star that turned out to be a planetary nebula. It has an unusual pinkish hue as a strong emitter in Hydrogen (H-alpha and H-Beta) but has very little emission in OIII (which is common in PNe).

As the nights in Orkney were too bright for observing, I used a remote telescope in Utah (iTelescope T21).
