About this image
An Optical transient recorded by ZTF (Palomar 1.2m, Oschin) discovered at magnitude at 12.7 on July 31 0524UT
Well its still reasonably bright at r mag 13.3 on this image taken with my C11 with F3.3 reducer working at F4.2. This was the telescope config i was using for an asteroid occultation that i was monitoring, so this is not optimised for imaging. (Note the coma and internal reflections). Astrometrica using UCAC4 as the cat source (Uncalibrated)

That's interesting. Do you have a link to the discovery page? More information would be useful...any spectra yet?
Thanks,
Mike.
https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2023omg gives some useful information.
www.wis-tns.org is worth bookmarking IMO.
Robin Leadbeater has provide additional information to that page, specifically http://www.cbat.eps.harvard.edu/unconf/followups/J16420534+8156125.html
The OT was reported in The Astronomer circular E3809, from which the link above is given. Any additional info/observation/spectra would be interesting. Tomorrow night might be clear in England.
