About this image

The image was taken in twilight conditions as it was located just below the roofline of the adjacent observatory at my remote site in Extremadura, Spain, but fortunately, that roof was open until daylight.

My image records an ion tail around 26 arcminutes long. The comet is mag 9.15 and has a 4.1 arcminute dia coma as measured in Comphot.

Very nice Peter, especially with the comet at a small elongation. I woke up at 0315 this morning to make my attempt at it, but it was more cloudy than expected in the east. Will try again tomorrow.
