About this image

With the forecast looking iffy I decided just to do a pretty picture and went after NGC6946 which I first imaged in 1995 using a camera with 340x240 pixels based on a Texas 255 chip. QE then was 35%, noise was huge, hot pixels plentiful and download was painfully slow. Things are so much easier now! So I had a play. An hours imagery doesn't look bad. I reckon 2hours would be notably better and still not entirely into vanishing returns.

Next stop Borisov's "Is it really there?" nebula. After 120 images I will be sure its there but its never exactly astonishing.
