Title

Venus surface detection 5th September

About this image

This is a 12 minute video stack of Venus using specialist filters to detect heat from the surface of the night side of Venus.  Higher surface areas will appear darker in the image.  Seeing was excellent on the morning of the 5th, sky crisp and clear and the atmosphere remarkably steady.  This video was the first I was able to capture once Venus cleared local obstructions and proved to be the best of three videos I was able to take before sunrise.  The detail in the image surpasses anything I had previously managed.
