Title

CC And photometry in poor conditions

About this image

Testing a new photometry setup piggybacked on the telescope carrying the high resolution spectrograph to allow simultaneous photometry and spectroscopy. The target is pulsating Delta Scuti Variable CC Andromedae with a dominant period of 3 hours.  Conditions were unpromising with passing clouds varying the raw signal by a factor of 6. (The image was taken with the photometry setup on a better night). Despite the poor conditions the differential photometry turned out pretty good with the few percent variation in brightness and the few km/s pulsation velocity changes well detected.
