Title

Galaxy hiding behind a star

About this image

I love searching deep-sky fields in my astrophotos for interesting objects. While inspecting the surroundings of NGC 6946, I found these two intriguing galaxies, one almost hidden behind a star. It's fascinating to think that a star within our galaxy shares the same line of sight with a galaxy millions of light years away. I also have a sense that these two galaxies are at the same distance and possibly interacting with each other.
