Title

Occultation of 10 Ceti

About this image

The first opportunity to time an event since the spring. 10 Ceti (mag 6.2) at the dark limb of the 95% illuminated Moon in a clear sky.

Prediction with Occult 4 software indicated a double star with the comes (mag 8) disappearing first 1.2 sec earlier.  I think i can see this on the light curve with Tangra software.  Its a bit noisy due to scintilation. The timing will be sent to the European Collector.  I report event timings every 3 months using the Occult report function.

The observation will eventually be archived in VizieR. To see, search for Lunar Occultations, select Herald, CAT=R and ID=55 will bring up all the timings for 10 Ceti (= ZC55 =R55).   There is info on light curves in VizieR, in a search for "occultation light curves".

Could you provide the magnitude vs time observations please? A csv-format file would be ideal but most any sensible format could be analysed.

It would be good to feed it through various nose reduction algorithms to see if a clearer distinction between the two occultation events can be produced..
