About this image

The clouds parted for a brief period near the maximum the lunar eclipse to allow this shot through a 4-inch telescope. Shortly after, there was a massive amount of rain.

This eclipse looked very dark, but then they always do when only a small partial; it is a contrast effect.

The image has had no processing.
