About this image

An image I took of the Milky Way from a friend's back garden in Coromandel.

The southern Milky Way is far better than what we see and the Magellanic cloud livens up the view nicely. A dark sky helped but Auckland conurbation isn't that far away and was messing up the views toward the west.

It was weird listening to Morpork owls and a distant Kiwi foraging about... Not quite the same as Wiltshire.

If you ever get a chance to go south of the equator, take it.
