About this image

LoTr 1 is a 2.4 arc minute bubble shaped planetary nebula in Lepus. At its centre is the star AB Lepori, which is a binary system. Is evolved in nature and much brighter in OIII. The outer shell has an age of 35,000 years and its inner ring has an age of 17,000 years. It was first discovered by A.J. Longmore and S.B. Tritton with the UK 1.2 m Schmidt telescope in 1980.
Captured using my remote telescopes in Spain.
