About this image

My supernova patrol of 30th January 2024 revealed a blue star in NGC 3206. As I was preparing to report my discovery, a notification appeared that Patrick Wiggins in the USA had found the object one day earlier. This is my fourth independent discovery - hopefully I will get an outright sometime this year. Patrick tells me that he observes 300 galaxies regularly and has found 9 out of 33 supernovae that have occurred in them. He has 150 clear nights each year!
