About this image

Mercury imaged in a slightly hazy sky but fair seeing conditions. The planet was at magnitude -1.1 so was easy to locate, and the haze did not impact the image noticeably. Videos were processed in PIPP and Registax before final manual selection of the best frames for stacking. The proportion of usable frames was around 0.5% of the 300,000 captured.

Comparison of the image with a blurred WinJupos image shows a good match for the albedo markings.
