About this image

ATLAS(t), when it wasn't pouring down I spent several evenings traipsing to the local playing fields only to see it cloud over after sunset, but this evening I finally got a pic of comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) - aka comet SilingItDown-Fruitless.

On this occasion the cloudbanks briefly relented and a few gaps allowed a naked eye and binocular search for the comet. I recorded it on some quick shots but as I looked through my 10x50s I only glimpsed the tail near its coma before the clouds masked it again.

...and whilst waiting to spot the comet there was a train of Starlink satellites streaming through Cygnus...
