About this image

Orion is finally coming into view although still a littel low in sky.  I wanted to get a narrowband image of the Horses Head and flame nebula showing the rich red background contrasting with the black of the dark nebula, and therefore choose an HSO pallette.

Processing in pixinsight with various exterminators (BlurX, StarX, NoiseX) enabled me to dull down the overly bright star in Orion's belt - Alnitak. I may well have overdone it! There is always more to learn with Astrophotography
