About this image

Left work early on Monday afternoon as forecast was meant to be good for Venus night-side imaging just after sunset, but my journey home was gloomy - all I could see was a blanket of thick high cloud.

Amazingly as sunset approached the high cloud melted away leaving good imaging conditions for Venus night-side with Uranus-C camera at prime f4.6 on my 444mm Dob. with PixelTeq 1010/38 and ZWO 850nm in series. Seeing and transparency were both good.

22 videos were taken each of 2mins at gain 300 and 25msecs exposure. The best 80% of each was processed in Regi . The best 12 images from Registax were then simply stacked in Autostakkert!4 and further lightly processed in Registax.

Be lucky to better this image this apparition given the forecast - then I thought it was going to be cloudy on Monday, so who knows!
