Jupiter's NTB storms 18th February

About this image

An unexpected bonus with many features of interest.   I had set out to join fellow BAA member Sally Russell to 'borrow' the use of her Celestron C11 to attempt to image the night side of Venus (as it is now blocked from my observatory by sunset).  We were clouded out on Venus so turned our attention to Jupiter instead.  I only had one other camera not set up for Venus with me that I could attach to examine Jupiter.  When we looked not only was Europa's shadow transitting and the GRS but also a number of plumes and storms in the NTB were apparent on developing the images.

I am grateful to John Rogers for clarifying which plume and storm was which!
